The work explores the pressure to remain controlled, elegant, and visually acceptable, even when that image becomes a form of captivity. Each mirror presents another version of the figure, suggesting that identity is not only constructed by the self, but also by the expectations, judgments, and perceptions of others. In Composed, composure is not freedom. It is a performance held in place.
