Pillbox Hill Medical Center, commonly known as PHMC, is a major hospital and level 1 trauma center located in the Pillbox Hill district of Los Santos. Established in 1950, the centre provides emergency treatment, general medical care, coroner and pathology services, surgery, intensive care, psychiatric services and rehabilitation.

The hospital is organised across 11 principal floors, with departments dedicated to outpatient care, emergency medicine, inpatient recovery, intensive care, surgery, behavioural health and administration.

History

Pillbox Hill Medical Center was founded by Dr. William H. Franke, a surgeon who had previously worked in Liberty City.

Franke was known for his interest in new medical treatments and for introducing advanced practices during his earlier hospital career. By the late 1940s, he was invited to Los Santos to assist in improving the city’s limited medical infrastructure.

The hospital was constructed as a purpose-built medical centre and officially opened on May 1, 1950. Its original objective was to provide consistent and accessible medical care to the growing population of Los Santos.

During the following decades, PHMC expanded its departments, facilities and range of treatments. Successive hospital directors introduced new policies, technologies and medical procedures as the institution developed into one of the principal healthcare centres in San Andreas.

Leadership

PHMC has been led by several medical directors since its establishment. Each administration has overseen changes to hospital policy, treatment standards and clinical facilities.

Evelyn Adelheid Bleichroder is the current President. Her appointment followed an extended medical career at PHMC, during which she served in several clinical and administrative positions.

Under Bleichroder’s leadership, the hospital assembled a renewed senior management team and continued the expansion of its specialist departments.

The hospital’s management structure includes the offices of hospital director, deputy director, chief of medicine, chief of surgery and psychiatry director.

Mission

Pillbox Hill Medical Center describes its principal purpose as providing reliable healthcare to all patients regardless of their circumstances.

The hospital’s stated priorities include patient welfare, professional neutrality, medical innovation and adapting its services to developments in technology and clinical practice.

PHMC also identifies rehabilitation and long-term recovery as important parts of patient treatment, alongside emergency and surgical care.

Role in Los Santos

Pillbox Hill Medical Center is one of the principal healthcare providers serving Los Santos.

Its central location allows the hospital to receive patients from across the city, including emergency cases transferred by ambulance and patients referred for specialist treatment.

In addition to treating illness and injury, PHMC participates in rehabilitation, medical education and community healthcare. The institution has continued to expand its services in response to the changing medical needs of Los Santos.
